Concept Statement

Inspired by Wong Kar-Wai’s movie, In the Mood for Love, This thesis employs film-making methodologies such as Mise en Scene and Film Montage to create “an experience of desire” at the Love Station at 675 Hudson Street, West Village in New York’s Meatpacking District. Through techniques of framing, layering, reflecting, and projecting through Camera Obscura technology, occupants experience the physical and emotional tension of harmony and evasive conflict between two lovers in a building that remains partially occupied by its existing tenants.
